Teen Basketball League

The City of Colton strives to provide a safe youth sports environment that emphasizes fun, participation, cooperation, and above all, respect for every child.

Colton Community Service offer a recreational competitive basketball league specifically for teenagers, ages 13 to 17 years old. Come join the fun, and work on your basketball skills or learn something new. Learn some important traits, such as good sportsmanship and teamwork too!

Registration 

  • Begins: January 17, 2023
  • Deadline: April 28, 2023

All individuals registering must provide written verification of their date of birth at the time of registration and be between the ages of 13-17 on May 20, 2023. Accepted forms include birth certificates, baptism records, or medical forms. All registration is held at the Gonzales Community Center or online. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Season Timeline

  • Practice begins week of May 18*
  • Season Begins: Saturday, May 20*
  • Championship Tournament: July 29 and August 5*
  • *Dates subject to change. 

Fees

Fees include a basketball team jersey and team awards for first place team. Proof of residency is required for the resident rate. Late fees are $10 and are non-refundable.

  • Residents: $98 per child
  • Non-residents: $117 per child

Player Evaluation

All participants must attend. Players with special requests must attend a player evaluation for request to be considered. No requests are guaranteed.

  • May 4, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
  • May 5, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.

All special requests must be noted on the registration form and players must attend the skill assessment for the request to be considered. No requests are guaranteed. Siblings will be placed on the same team, if noted on the form and are in the same division.

New All-Star Game Weekend

On July 15 (date subject to change), the league’s top 18 players, selected by the league coaches and administrative staff, will participate in an All-Star Game. The game will be followed by an All-Star Skills Challenge, a Staff vs Teen game, and a 3-point shooting contest.
