Youth Basketball League

The City of Colton strives to provide a safe youth sports environment that emphasizes fun, participation, cooperation, and respect for every child.

Open to ages 6-13, this non-competitive league offers a ten-game season in a structured, supportive environment focused on skill-building,YBB 24-25 (80) teamwork, and sportsmanship. Practices and games will be held at the Gonzales Community Center. Special requests are subject to availability and approval is not guaranteed.

The season begins on Friday, January 9 and Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Registration 

  • Begins Monday, August 18
  • Deadline Friday, October 24

All individuals registering for basketball must provide written verification of their date of birth at the time of registration. Accepted forms include birth certificates, baptism records, or medical forms. All registration is held at the Gonzales Community Center or online. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Divisions 

  • Division A: Born 2012 or 2013

  • Division B: Born 2014 or 2015

  • Division C: Born 2016 or 2017

  • Division D (Developmental): Born 2018 or 2019

Fees

Fees include a basketball jersey, team and individual photos, and a participation award at the end of the season. Proof of residency is required for the resident rate. Late fees are $15 and are non-refundable.

  • Colton Residents: $118 per child. Non-residents fees apply.

Mandatory Skills Assessments

Players must schedule and attend a skills assessment at registration.

  • Division A: Wednesday, October 22 | 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

  • Division B: Thursday, October 23 | 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

  • Division C: Wednesday, October 22 | 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

  • Division D: Friday, October 24 | 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Make-up Skills Assessment: Friday, October 24 | 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
