Inspection Line
Please call by 4 pm to schedule an inspection the following day. Thursday and Friday calls roll over to the following Monday or work day in case of a holiday. The building inspection routing slip is usually ready by 7:30 a.m. the following morning.

2022 Building Codes
Contractors, Design Professionals, Developers, Home-Owners, Public in General: On January 1, 2023, the new 2022 California Building Code will become effective for all new permit applications as prescribed within adopted Ordinance 0-14-22. The 2022 California Building Standards Code (CBSC), that were adopted by Colton, became effective statewide on January 1, 2023. Included in the new CBSC are:

- 2022 California Residential Code
- 2022 California Plumbing Code
- 2022 California Electrical Code
- 2022 California Mechanical Code
- 2022 California Fire Code
- 2022 California Green Building Standards Code
- 2022 Energy Efficiency Standards
Additionally, the City of Colton adopted amendments to these codes which also became effective on January 6, 2023. These amendments, plus other building codes adopted, are found in our Municipal Code Title 15.
